I know, it’s been a while! Much has been going on the last few months and on top of opening the new bricks and mortar shop, I’ve also launched a new online shop! All very exciting! If you want to check it out click here! There are lots of goodies to buy on there including a whole load of new products that I haven’t had time to share with u! So I’ve posted a little slideshow of some of the shiny new SewSew items that are now available!
Weekend In Wales
Every once in a while there is that rare moment where I can blog about something other than sewing! Impossible!!…..I hear you shout. Not probable maybe but certainly not impossible as this weekend I stepped away from the sewing machine, left the shop and went to the lovely Wales for a couple of nights with my lovely group of friends for some good old fashioned Halloween fun! And, as you can see below I saw Thomas The Tank Engine, which really just made the whole weekend, I’m not going to lie!

We visited Portmadog one day and had a lovely explore on the beaches which had the most gorgeous views!

We also passed through Portmarion and looked around the most bizarre village that apparently was used in a 1960’s TV show ‘The Prisoner.’ That’s where I saw this handsome brut below!

The Christmas Sprout Wreath is back! Get you orders in in time for Christmas and have a slightly quirkier take on the traditional Christmas wreath! Available now at Not On The High Street and my Big Cartel shop!
Just made this cheeky batch of cup cake pin cushions for the shop!
Shop Sign!
Last night my sign was finally put up and I love it! The shop’s really starting to come together now. The side sign came as well, I’m just waiting for Mark, the nice sign man, to whip me up a bracket and that can go up as well! The sign has been cut from blue acrylic on a fancy sign cutting machine (that’s the technical name for it!) and looks just splendid. Here it is!

SewSew Shop Now Open!
After many a long week of painting and sewing and stressing the SewSew shoppe is now open! It’s still not quite finished, there’s still a partition to go on the front and my signs have not yet gone up but nevertheless it’s all go! Here’s a pic!

Still lots more stock to get in so have been sewing away all day but hopefully it will soon start looking a lot more full! Going to try to move all my christmas stock in soon so can’t wait until it’s looking all festive!!
Saw this awesome post on Cowandco and thought I would share!
Dalton Ghetti
Incredible sculptures carved into pencil lead.
Took this pic of my Sprouts yesterday so I can get them in my shops nice and early in time for Christmas. They looked so jolly sat there on their cake stand I had to share!
SewSew Has A Shop!!
So it has been fairly quiet here on the SewSew blog the past month and that is because I’ve been running around like a nutter organising myself to open a shop. Yes, you heard right! After two and a half years of manic stitching in the spare room I can finally move into my own bricks and mortar shop, and not a moment too soon either! With the lack of sun light and no one to talk to but the cheeky creatures I’m stitching I was starting to resemble Gollum from Lord Of The Rings!
My shop is going to be occupying a lovely unit at Heskin Hall in Chorley with lots of other crafty people. Anyway, it doesn’t look like much at the moment but here is the space!

I can’t wait until I’m properly in there and trading! A lot to be done I know but I’ve made a start on getting my furniture sorted and I found an awesome old side board that is perfect for my counter! Here it is before and after:

The fellow lurking around in the back is my lovely Dad who has now spent a good few weekends with a paint brush in his hand helping me out! Look what a good job he’s done though! I will post again when I’ve got it all moved into the space and it’s looking a bit more exciting!
Rain Cloud In Treasury!
When I got up this morning there was a lovely message waiting for me to tell me that my Rain Cloud was in a treasury! It’s always nice when you are in a treasury so thought I would share!
